A few years ago, Jack dubbed my stamping area “Grandma’s Workshop”. Grandpa had a workshop in the basement so Jack thought it was natural that the area where I stamped and created projects should be called “Grandma’s Workshop”.
At the time, my daughter-in-law wrote the name on the window with window makers. I didn’t wash those words off the window for a couple of years, honestly! 🙂 The name stuck and later on my sister-in-law, Toni, painted the wonderful sign that you see above!
A couple weeks ago, our grandkids, Jack & Maddie came for a long visit and left their parents at home. We had great fun doing lots of things including going to the fireworks, swimming and chasing around our hunting land on the 4 wheelers. But no visit is complete without some stamping time!
I love it when they ask me “can we make some cards”? It’s our special time together! Kids are so creative and most of the time they have an idea of how they want the card to look within a few seconds. Me? It usually takes a lot longer to come up with an idea and for it to take shape.
Here are some of the cards that the kids made.

Maddie made this card for her Grandpa Kyle who loves to fish. It features the new, Stylized Birthday stamp and Seaside Shore stamp set.

Jack created this card for Grandpa Kyle using a retired stamp set, The Great Outdoors. He sponged the background with classic ink and Stampin’ Sponges. I think he did a great job coloring in the fire to make it look realistic!

Look at all the cards Jack and Maddie made using some left over card class kits I had on hand. My little entrepreneurs want to set up a stand at home and sell cards instead of lemonade! Grandkids after my heart!
What special things do you do with your kids/grandkids? Do you ‘borrow’ kids so you can do projects and be creative? Who have you introduced to stamping? I’d love to hear your stories. Please leave a comment on this post.
