Crazy that I made a card with NO stamping involved!  The embossing and DSP seemed to call for a simple greeting and the the word “happy” cut out with a thinlit was the perfect thing!  Write your own note inside with birthday greetings, thinking of you, thank you, or just about any occasion.

Cardstock – Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight, Affectionately Yours
Ink – none used
Accessories – Lovely Lace Embossing Folder, , Hello You Thinlits Dies, Big Shot, Precision Plate, Brights Candy Dots, Stampin’ Dimenionals, Snail Adhesive

Stamping Tip:  the Precision Base Plate was used to get a perfect cut from the thinlit

Embedded Embossing Technique

I recently came across a card I made in the past that used the Embedded Embossing Technique.  It made me realize that it’s been a while since I’ve showcased that technique.  Here it is on a card made for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge.

Stamp Set – By the Tide, Crazy About You
Cardstock – Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Whisper White, Cherry on Top DSP
Ink – Bermuda Bay
Accessories – 3/4″ and 1″ Circle Punches,  Word Window Punch, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Stitched Ribbon, Glue Stick, Snail Adhesive, Stampin Dimensionals

Tip for Embedded Embossing Technique:  The punched circles were adhered to the Daffodil Delight Cardstock with glue stick adhesive before embossing it with the Big Shot.

Sharing in Your Sorrow

I am involved with a Card Ministry at my church; cards are sent to members of the congregation when needed.  New Baby, Thinking of You, Get Well, and Sympathy are sent out to let people know that their Church Family remembers them.

Our stash of Sympathy Cards has been depleted and I designed this quick and easy card.  I’ll make several more changing the Designer Series Paper.  We are planning a card making event and I like to keep the cards simple so new stampers are successful when they come stamp with us for the first time.

Accessories – Floral Affection Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Snail Adhesive, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I think the new embossing folder looks elegant when it is the focal point of the card.  Change the sentiment and it would make a beautiful birthday card also.  Don’t you just love the Navy, Crumb Cake and White color combination?  I’m thinking about having a Navy and White Card Class – what do you think?
