Not long ago I showed you how I utilize some storage items in my craft room. See the original post. At that time I promised you some photos of how I personalized my stamping area. These are the things that make my stamping area meaningful to me and show off my personality. I think I am more apt to spend time in my stamping area and be creative when that area makes me smile.
Here you can see the sign which my sister-in-law painted for me. It hangs above one of the windows. My stamping area was named “Grandma’s Workshop” by my grandson, Jack. Grandpa has a workshop for woodworking so it followed that my stamping area must be a “workshop” for Grandma! Too Cute!
I love pottery and use this organizer, which I received as a gift from Toni, on the table in my stamping area. There are 4 little pots that I have full to the brim with tools I like to have right at hand when I stamp.
This wooden box holds odd and ends that accumulate on my work area until I take time to find them a more permanent home. Extra banner pieces and stamped images that I don’t end up using right away sit in this box until I use them on a project. I found this old Kraft Velveeta box in the basement when we were cleaning out my mother’s house. It was full of screws, nails, etc on my dad’s workbench and I cleaned up the box and repurposed it for my stamping area.
This is a 12 X 12 page that I decorated; kind of like a scrapbook page except that I framed the sheet and now have it sitting on top of a shelf. My grandson is in the photo which was taken about the time he coined the term “Grandma’s Workshop”.
This oil painting was painted by my grandmother about 50 years ago. I loved it as a child and she made sure I received it when she died. Never get tired of looking at this painting! My husband made an easel out of special wood for the painting to sit on. So not only do I think of my grandmother when I look at the painting, I also think of my husband when I see the easel.
My sister-in-law, Toni is a dear to me. She coined the term “sister-in-friend” for the 2 of us. As you can see, she is a talented artist. I don’t know if you tell, but the cup on the table in this painting says “born to stamp”. Look at the detail in the window and the prints on the wall. Toni is amazing!!
One time when Toni was visiting, we spent the better part of a day going to rummage sales. She found this old cheese box for me to buy. I think it was $2.00. We cleaned it up and I sent it home with Toni to paint for me. I loved what she did with it!
If you have been a stamper for some years, you may recognize this as a Stampin’ Up! stamp. She enlarged it to use as a pattern to trace on the box and then painted it. I keep extra adhesives in this box in my stamping area.
As you can see, my stamping area is full of items that bring to mind people who are extra special to me!
