“Sprinkles of Life” for the PPA256 Sketch Challenge

PPA256

Here’s my submission for the Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge this week.  The sketch is shown below.  Hop over to their site and see how other people have used the sketch on their projects.  Then, I challenge you to create a card/project using the sketch.

My card uses two of the hottest, new products from Stampin’ Up! – the Sprinkles of LIfe stamp set and coordinating Tree Builder Punch.  The Sprinkles of Life, which is this year’s Ronald McDonald House stamp set, has images of a cupcake, ice cream cone, and more.  AND a portion of  every sale goes to support Ronald McDonald House Charities.  What’s not to like?  Order your stamp set and punch today.

Card Recipe

“By the Tide” is Great for Guys

By the Tide and Mint Macaron

Stamp Set – By the Tide, Age Awareness
Ink -Elegant Eggplant, Mint Macaron, Lost Lagoon
Cardstock – Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Accessories – Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I stamped the fish on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, then “fussy cut” it and popped up with dimensionals.   There is nothing better than Stampin’ Up! Paper Snips for fussy cutting!  And it’s perfect for cutting ribbon too.  If you don’t have our Paper Snips, you should add it  to your next order – you won’t regret it.

This card would be perfect for Father’s Day – just change the sentiment!  Clean and Simple – just the kind of cards guys prefer.

From Land to Sea – PPA 255

Here is a quick card for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge.  I have to admit that I’m into bright cheery colors these days since we wait so long for summer to arrive in Wisconsin.  That made this color combination difficult for me to work with.  But this is why I participate in challenges, to stretch my creativity, and in the end this masculine birthday card turned out perfect. with “no frills”.

Are you ever unsure of a card that you make?  Think it needs something extra?  That’s how I felt about my this card.

Then I went for a bike ride and came back ready to improve the card.  I stamped a second fish on a piece of Whisper White cardstock,  fussy cut it, and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Here’s the finished card.

Sometimes it’s good to walk away from a project.  When you come back to it, you may be surprised with your creativity!
