Fun on Wheels Birthday Card

Here’s a fun card perfect for a teen or one of your guy friends!  I know masculine cards can be hard for some of you to create.

Stamp Set – Fun on Wheels
Cardstock – Real Red, Basic Black, Basic White, Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper, Silver & Gold  Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper
Ink – Azure Afternoon
Accessories – Fun on Wheels Dies, Wanted to Say Dies, Stampin’ Seal, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Do you use dies to cut out words?  Or do you avoid word dies because they are hard to adhere?   If so, take a look at the Silver & Gold Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper found in the Online Exclusives section of my store.  No more messy glue – after you die cut the words, just peel off the paper backing and it’s ready to adhere to your project!  Bonus – you add bling to your project at the same time with the Glimmer Paper!

Craft Room Storage

Some of you who follow my Facebook page, Deb’s Stampin’ Grounds, may already have seen these photos of my new stamping studio.  But for those who aren’t on Facebook, I wanted to give you an opportunity to see my studio; before & after photos.

In our new home, I am lucky to have a 10″ x 12″ room for my Stamping Studio.  While I share some basic office supplies, as well as a printer & paper shredder with my husband, the room is mostly mine!  A new space, a blank canvas!  So blessed!

Here is a “before” photo of my studio

The 3′ x 5′ desk/work table was a great find on Facebook Marketplace last spring. Since the desk is dark wood, I wanted to keep the rest of my storage light & airy.  Off to IKEA, 1-1/2 hours away.  As we were walking through IKEA picking up boxes & boxes, I could feel my husband’s tension increase as he realized we would have to do the assembly!  LOL!

In the end, it didn’t take as long as we expected to assemble two cabinets & one shelf/cube unit.  We assembled one cabinet with doors after we got back from IKEA and the next day we finished, the 2nd cabinet & the 25 cube shelf unit. Let me tell you, the pile of boxes was pretty daunting at first!

Above you can see Dave in the midst of assembly.  He admits that he doesn’t like to read instructions!  HA!  To keep us on track, I ‘read’ the picture directions that IKEA is known for and together we got through assembly, step by step!  Just like creating a papercrafting project!

Below you can see us after assembly – all smiles.  We made it through…together; just like our marriage of 46 years & still going strong!

Below you can see a cube unit that I bought on Facebook Marketplace – Dave liked this one because it was already assembled!  It was like new and matches the new units perfectly.

The next 2 photos are my “after” photos.

I was happy to have a couple drawers & shelves empty when i finished unpacking my supplies.  I still need to put some decorations up on the walls but I smile every time I walk in the room.

It is so nice to have my supplies readily accessible and space to work after spending the summer is our camper.  Here I can leave things out if I have to stop in the middle of a project; I close the door to the room and come back to it later.  I didn’t have that luxury in our camper.

The Same but Different!

Some time ago, I used the design below for at on my card classes.  I had cut extra card kits as I usually do, and yesterday I had time to complete them.

I didn’t want the cards to all to be the same, so I used different stamp sets than the Hippo set.  For this first one, I used the Whale Watching stamp set found in the current Mini Catalog.

The images from the By My Side stamp set are so precious.  I chose that set to fill in the spaces on the card below.

For my last card, I used images from the Sea Turtle stamp set.

The purpose of this post was to show you that you don’t have to copy a card exactly as the original.  I used the same layout & designer series paper in different colors.  By varying the stamp set, you can get an entirely new look!
