I created this Shadow Box home decor item to help friends celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Their daughter helped out by getting a copy of the couple’s wedding photo for me.
For this project I used a variety of items including a few things that have long since been retired. Here is a partial list of items:
- Good Morning Magnolia stamp set
- Magnolia Memory Dies
- Animal Friends Dies
- Frosted Bouquet Dies
- Stitched Rectangle Dies
- Stitched Shapes Dies
- Very Vanilla 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim
Stamping Tip: The embellishment in the center of the magnolia flower was silve and I wanted it to be gold toned for the golden anniversary (50 years). I heat embossed the embellishent with gold embossing powder – be careful if you do this. It took the metal a while to cool off!
The Pearl Basic Jewels looked too white for this project so I used the Ivory Stampin’ Blend to color them. They ended up looking more vintage which is the look I was going for.
After spending lots of time on the Shadow Box, I needed a simple card to go with the gift. This is one of the Magnolia Lane Memories & More Cards mounted on the small card base. A bit of lace and a sentiment were all that was needed to finish off the project.
The surprise party was truly a surprise and I’m pretty sure they liked the Shadow Box, too.
