Back to School Pencil Card

Here is a card that I made to send my grandchildren for Back to School.  I’m not sure either of them are excited about their first day of school, but everyone loves to receive cards in the mail!

Stampin Up Back to School Pencil Card - Debra Simonis Stampinup

To create the Card Base, start with a 5-1/2″ x 6″ piece of Kraft Cardstock.  Score the 6″ side at 3″ and fold.  You should have a card that is 3″ x 5-1/2″ when folded.  Cut the pencil point using the guidelines in the template bleow.

This is how I marked the card base to create the pencil point.

Here are the measurements for the card pieces:

  • Eraser – Powder Pink cardstock 3/4″ x 3″
  • Pencil – Crushed Curry cardstock 3″ x 3-1/4″ (Score every 1/2″ to create a more realistic pencil barrel.  I cut the ripples free hand)
  • Lead Point – Basic Black cardstock punched a 1-1/4″ Circle

Adhere the Powder Pink, Crushed Curry and Basic Black pieces to the Kraft Card Base.  Trim the Basic Black circle around the pencil point.  Use a corner rounder to round the corners of the eraser end of the card.

Decorate as desired.  I used stamps from previous Paper Pumpkin kits for my sentiment layer.  Here is where you have the opportunity to make it your own.

  • Add your favorite student’s name to create personalized pencils
  • Stamp with “thank you”  and give a set of cards as a wonderful Back to School Gift for any teacher.

Christmas Ornaments

This past week, we’ve been out of town celebrating my daughter’s thesis presentation and achieving her doctorate in Marine Biology.  Now that I’m back home, I’m excited to get back into my Stamping Studio.  The “Be Merry” Project Kit just arrived on my doorstep yesterday, so I hope to get a sample put together in the next few days.

These Christmas ornaments would make a nice add-on to your packaging if you “gift” home baked treats to neighbors or friends during the Christmas Holidays.  My husband makes wine, so I plan to hang them on the neck of a wine bottle for the wine that we give to friends/neighbors.

I didn’t think I needed this kit, but once I saw one of these ornaments in person, I had to order the kit right away!  The ornaments are SO Beautiful!
