Oh So Eclectic

A friend wanted to introduce members of her Prayer Group to stamping so I created this simple card design.  I met with the group who got together for Coffee and a Card.  Making one simple card is a great way to introduce friends and family to stamping.  And it’s less intimidating to  know ahead of time that you will be stamping one project.

Stamp Set – Oh So Eclectic, Ribbon of Courage
Cardstock – Fresh Fig, Whisper White
Ink – Fresh Fig, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories – 1-3/4″ Circle Punch, Starburst Punch, Clear Faceted Gems, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator it’s rewarding for  me when people are successful the first time they stamp.  When people go home with a handcrafted card and a smile on their face, you know it’s a good day!

Here is the same card in another color combo.  This one features Flirty Flamingo along with the Fresh Fig and Pear Pizzazz

Colorful Seasons – Relax by the Water

Stamp Set – Special Celebrations, High Tide, Colorful Seasons
Cardstock – Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum, Glossy White, Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack
Ink – Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight
Accessories – Seaside Embossing Folder, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Big Shot, Pool Party, Perfect Plum, and Marina Mist Ink Refills along with Stampin’ Spritzer to create background on Glossy White Cardstock, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

Here is another card that I made after creating my own background paper using the Ink Refills and Glossy White Cardstock.  I first described that technique here.

Doesn’t this card remind you of sittting by the ocean or lake in the summer, relaxing with a glass of lemonade or your favorite adult beverage?  It might be the end of June but it sure doesn’t feel like summer here in Central Wisconsin – the temperature was only in the mid-40’s when I woke up yesterday and it has been raining almost every day for the past week or two.  Not our typical summer weather!

The Colorful Seasons stamp set is part of the Color Theory Suite of products.  If you haven’t already seen the Color Theory Suite video, you can see it below.

Did you know that the Daisy Punch is now back in stock?  Order your Daisy Delight Bundle and save 10%.  There are so many fun, new products in the new catalog, have you placed your order yet?

High Tide – and Directions on How To Create Your Own Background Paper

I created these multicolored backgrounds in a flash!  I had so much fun trying different color combinations and varying amounts of ink drops, it was hard to stop.

How To Create Your Own Background Paper:  Use ink refills to add drops of color  onto Glossy White Cardstock (I used 4″ X 5-1/4″ pieces of Glossy White Cardstock).  Next, spritz the ink drops with water using a Stampin’ Spritzer.  Allow the color to spread and blot off the excess ink with a paper towel.  Let dry before using them to create your project.

Here is a background panel used on a card.  I will feature some of the other background papers on cards in upcoming blog posts.

This combination of colors reminds me of the ocean.  I’m looking forward to our trip to San Diego in August when we are going to visit our daughter.  The house we rented to share with our son, grandchildren, and friends of my daughter is located only 2-1/2 blocks from the ocean.  I expect we’ll see shore birds on the beach just like the ones in my card which are from the High Tide stamp set!

Stamp Set – High Tide, Best Birds
Cardstock – Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Whisper White
***Background was created using Glossy White Cardstock along with Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Marine Mist Ink Refills and a Stampin’ Spritzer.
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Soft Suede
Accessories – Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive
