Lovely as a Tree Continues to be a Classic

Did you know that the stamp set “Lovely as a Tree” has been in the catalog longer than any other?   This stamp set has stood the test of time and continues to be popular.

I think it has staying power because the images are strong and realistic.  Trees and leaves are versatile to papercrafters and can be used to create Christmas cards,  as well as Sympathy, Birthday, Thank You, Thinking of You and more.

Add new trendy colors and the trees take on a new life. The images look great embossed, colored in, or stamped in a variety of colors.  Trees make a great Clean and Simple card for beginning stampers and can be stepped up to satisfy the most experienced stamper.

This is a Clean and Simple (CAS) card which makes a great masculine card for many different occasions.  Just change the sentiment.

We have a Card Ministry at our church and a group of us ladies get together several times a year to make handcrafted cards that are sent out to members of the congregation.  We needed some masculine cards and I needed an easy design because some of the ladies are novice stampers.

Stylized Birthday is a Great Focal Point

Stamp Set – Stylized Birthday, Tree Rings
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Smokey Slate
Cardstock – Bermuda Bay, Smokey Slate, Whisper White
Accessories – Brights Enamel Shapes, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive (Basic Gray Card Base and adhesive strip of arrows was leftover from a previous Paper Pumpkin project kit)

I was on a mission this past week to use up some leftover pieces from Paper Pumpkin kits.  By adding  images from current stamp sets it was easy to create a card that looked completely different from the original Paper Pumpkin card.

And it was definitely rewarding to empty a plastic shoebox full of odds & ends from previous Paper Pumpkin kits.  I hope to stay on track with the kits from here on out.
