High Tide – and Directions on How To Create Your Own Background Paper

I created these multicolored backgrounds in a flash!  I had so much fun trying different color combinations and varying amounts of ink drops, it was hard to stop.

How To Create Your Own Background Paper:  Use ink refills to add drops of color  onto Glossy White Cardstock (I used 4″ X 5-1/4″ pieces of Glossy White Cardstock).  Next, spritz the ink drops with water using a Stampin’ Spritzer.  Allow the color to spread and blot off the excess ink with a paper towel.  Let dry before using them to create your project.

Here is a background panel used on a card.  I will feature some of the other background papers on cards in upcoming blog posts.

This combination of colors reminds me of the ocean.  I’m looking forward to our trip to San Diego in August when we are going to visit our daughter.  The house we rented to share with our son, grandchildren, and friends of my daughter is located only 2-1/2 blocks from the ocean.  I expect we’ll see shore birds on the beach just like the ones in my card which are from the High Tide stamp set!

Stamp Set – High Tide, Best Birds
Cardstock – Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Whisper White
***Background was created using Glossy White Cardstock along with Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Marine Mist Ink Refills and a Stampin’ Spritzer.
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Soft Suede
Accessories – Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

Ecletic Layers Thinlits

This card makes me smile with the flowers and summer inspired colors.

Stamp Set – Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink – Emerald Envy
Cardstock – Lemon Lime Twist, Flirty Flamingo, Emerald Envy, Whisper White
Accessories – Eclectic Layers Thinlits, Lots of Labels Framelits, Big Shot, Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon, 2017-2019 In Color Bitty Bows, Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

Don’t like to tie your own bows?  The In Color Bitty Bows are, already tied, little felt bows and the perfect accent for your projects.

Stamping Tip:  I used the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to essentially make stickers out of the little Emerald Envy accent pieces.  Apply the adhesive sheet to the back of your cardstock.  Lay the cardstock with the adhesive sheet face down, place the Thinlit on top of the cardstock,  and run it through the Big Shot.  Peel the backing off from the die cut and adhere it to your project.

Like the Eclectic Layers Thinlits? Don’t miss the coordinating Oh, So Ecletic stamp set.  Save 10% when you use the special item code and purchase as a bundle.

Tree Rings – Great for a Masculine Card

This is a quick and easy masculine card.  No fussy frou frou on this one.  This is the first time I’ve inked up the Tree Rings background stamp.  It reminds me of the trees we cut down after the bad storm went through last week.

Last week I was outside cleaning up the yard and storm damage and this week I’ve spent a lot of time in my Stamping Studio.  🙂  I’ve made lots and lots of cards, tried some new techniques, sorted through my retired embellishments, and added some new items to my Retired Products For Sale.  (see dropdown list in the blog header above)

Stamp Set – Tree Rings, Badges & Banners
Ink – Crumb Cake, Pacific Point
Cardstock – Pacific Point, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Accessories – Duet Banners Punch, Gold Metallic Thread, Brights Enamel Shapes, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive
