Geared Up Garage

When I first saw the 2019 Occasions Catalog, I was excited to see several stamp sets that will be great for creating masculine themed cards.  Most of my customers tell me that masculine cards are the hardest ones for them to design.

Below you can see one of the cards that we’ll be making at my first class in January.  It features the Geared Up Garage stamp set which will also be the featured stamp set in my January Card Class by Mail.

Stamp Set – Geared Up Garage

Celebrate Jess Simonis!

Happy 13th Birthday to my granddaughter,  Jessalyn Simonis.

While it is wonderful to celebrate your birthday on the same day as Jesus, it can be easy to have your birthday overlooked during the excitement of the Christmas holiday.  I wanted to make a special card for Jessalyn that was not red & green and Christmas-y.

This year is especially significant as Jessalyn becomes a teenager.

Not everything in life, especially on Christmas, is all fun and games as they say.  Below I have written about my estranged family.  Don’t feel like you have to continuing reading this personal  post.

It seems like every family has members who are estranged.  This is the case with my oldest son, Nicholas (Nick) Simonis.  And so it is with my granddaughter.

It breaks my heart that I haven’t seen her for almost 12 years, Jessalyn (Jess) was only 15 months old when my son broke off all contact with his family.  I have made cards and put little momentos into a box with the hope that I will be able to meet up with her when she is 18.  When she sees the contents of the box, she will know that she was always loved.

Jessalyn Simonis –  this is the card I created to celebrate your 13th birthday.  Happy Birthday my sweet child!

This is not a “feel good” post.  I wrote this post with the hope that Jessalyn will see it online or maybe someone will be able to tell her about it.

If you are estranged from family members, please know that you are not alone.  It can be especially painful during holidays

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Stamping!

Merry Christmas, Round 2!

Today I will be celebrating Christmas with friends in Florida.  Dave and I have offered to fix the turkey, dressing, gravy and of course, cranberries from Wisconsin. So we will be busy monitoring a turkey today.

I hope that you are having a wonderful Christmas celebration how ever you are celebrating.

Here are some more beautiful hand crafted Christmas Cards that I have received from family and friends.
