“Going Global” for Dave

Today is my husband’s birthday!  He means the world today and what better stamp set to use for his birthday card than Going Global.  It is part of a Suite of Products which includes the World Traveler Embossing Folder and the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack (not used in this project). Going Global Dave's Birthday

Stamp Set – Going Global, Endless Birthday Wishes. Timeless Textures
Cardstock – Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Typeset Specialty DSP
Ink – Night of Navy, Marina Mist
Accessories – World Traveler Embossing Folder, Big Shot, 2″ and 2-1/2″ Circle Punches, Stampin’ Sponge, Snail Adhesive

Stamping Tips:

  • edges of the DSP were torn to give it a well worn look
  • a sponge was used to apply Night of Navy ink to the edges and center of the DSP
  • Marina Mist ink was used to stamp the waterspots using an image from the Timeless Textures stamp set

Pals Paper Arts PPA295

To get started participating in the color challenge, I laid out pieces of the 3 colors which were to be featured.

PPA 295 Color Combo

That brought inspiration to me quickly; that and the Playful Pals stamp set which was sitting on my stamping table! HA!  As you can see in the photo  below, the stamp set has a set of coordinating framelits.  IF you use the Playful Pals Bundle item #141069  when you order, the savings is 15%!

On the inside of the card, I added a strip from the Cherry On Top Washi Tape Collection and left room to write a note.

Chance to Win a Prize!

Scrap CardI put this card together using odds and ends of scraps that were in my stamping area.  The only thing that wasn’t something left over from a prior project was the “thank you” sentiment and the 2 Melon Mambo Candy Dots.

You may already have seen this in my April Newsletter:

Do you Love Scraps?  If you’re a serious crafter, chances are you love your scraps. It takes a major act of willpower for you to toss out old, inch-length pieces of ribbon, bits of Designer Series Paper, or tiny cardstock embellishments—even if they’re five years old!

Prize Opportunity:  Post a photo on my Facebook page, Deb’s Stampin’ Grounds of something you have made with “newly found” things in your stamping area.  I’d love to see them and there will be a prize involved. ”

Scrap project contest prize

YOU could win this prize! Post a photo on my Facebook page, Deb’s Stampin’ Grounds of something you have created using your scraps. Deadline to enter is Sunday, April 24th.
